'Chrissy's Colonic Crusaders' came to be in 2012 in honor of Chrissy Walker, who was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer at the young age of 23. She was humbled and inspired when friends asked if they could ride for her in Pelotonia! Her mission was to promote research for prevention and treatment of cancer so that no one else would suffer as she did. Chrissy's battle ended after 14 short months, however, her strength and bravery in fighting colon cancer motivates us to continue our support of research for various cancer cures.
We rejoice with Lee, Brett, Jill, Jean, Charles, Mary Ellen, Alissa, Scott and others who have been successfully treated at the James!! We ride for those who continue to press on with treatments like Larry. We ride in honor of Chrissy, Peggy Rossi, Matt, & Joe Kennedy who fought long and hard. We hold those who are left behind to grieve, in our hearts.
Cancer doesn't just affect 'someone else'. It can surface at any time, in anyone, at any age... possibly you or a loved one! We invite you to join us in any capacity and appreciate your support!
