This year, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Pelotonia has redefined the traditional cycling weekend to create a new experience via the platform, My Pelotonia. On June 2, our College profile will move to My Pelotonia and all CVM Peloton members will be listed as a 2020 Legend.
At the College of Veterinary Medicine and our Veterinary Medical Center, we are working to find a cure for cancer in all species. From conducting basic cellular-level research and ground-breaking clinical trials, partnering with the Wexner Medical Center, and employing experts in all specialty fields, we strive to understand how cancer works and what we can do to prevent it and cure it. Many of our veterinarians hold joint appointments in The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center-Solove Research Institute, and Nationwide Children's Hospital. As the only university in the country with seven health science colleges on a single campus, Ohio State is uniquely positioned to respond to today's challenges. The One Health movement is a collaborative effort of multiple disciplines working locally, nationally, and globally to attain optimal health for people, animals, and our environment.
This summer the College of Veterinary Peloton participates with a heavy heart. We lost a beloved and devoted member of our CVM Peloton, Dr. Laurie Cook. Laurie was an Associate Professor in Neurology and Neurosurgery at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She rode in Pelotonia for many years, and last year served as a volunteer. We will miss her smile, her positive attitude, her empathy, and her passion for Pelotonia.
Please read our individual CVM Peloton stories and donate to our peloton to help us find a cure for all species!
