My Fundraising Progress:
$0 My Goal: $500.00

Now more than ever the need for cancer research funding is vital. During this pandemic individuals are still being diagnosed with cancer. It’s up to us as a community to continue to fund ground-breaking research in order to not slow progress toward our One Goal.

So for for my Pelotonia this year, I’ve decided to walk 150 miles between June 18th and  July 18th. Those dates are significant to my family because those are the 30 days that my husband spent at The James while getting his life-saving stem cell transplant 11 years ago. We’ll also be doing our own 25 mile ride on what would have been Pelotonia weekend in August.

Please know that 100% of every dollar you donate is invested in innovative cancer research, the brightest minds and ideas, and the tools and technology needed to change the future of cancer care. In just twelve years, the Pelotonia community has raised more than $209 million, but we aren’t stopping there. Please consider supporting me today by making a donation. Together, we can be legendary.

I ride for my husband who fought with dignity and class...and won!

I ride for my brother-in-law who taught me in the short time that I was given with him, how to truly love without judgment.

I ride for my mother and father-in-law who made one of life's most difficult decisions, but did it with selflessness and courage.

I ride for my mother who didn't let breast cancer or skin cancer steal her spirit.

I ride for my father who continues to show me what it means to be strong.

I ride for aunts, uncles, and cousins –  we have celebrated victory with some, prayed for strength for those currently fighting, and said goodbye too soon to others.

I ride for my nieces and nephews in hopes that their children never have to experience this disease.

I ride for a dear friend who lost both parents to this horrible disease.

I ride for an amazing woman who gave it everything she had, but the disease took it all.

I ride for a friend who misses her dad still today.

I ride for a colleague who fought the battle for 13 years and left us too soon, but for whom we will continue the fight for.

I ride for the doctors who worked tirelessly to save my husband and give us our future back.

I ride for Dr. Benson and Dr. Leming, so they can continue to find ways to save more lives.

I ride for the nurses who, even in your lowest of lows, can still make you feel like a healthy human being.

I ride for all the friends, neighbors, and family who give without question to help those who cannot do for themselves because of the energy-zapping treatments.

I ride in the hopes of finding a cure so that no one else has to know the pains of chemo, the uncomfortableness of a port, the fear in a loved one's eyes, or the sadness in a parents face as they let go of a child.

I ride in the hopes that I never have to ride again.
