Every year. It happens every year. When you hear about somebody you know who is fighting cancer, it's like a punch to the stomach. Unfortunately, now it's personal. Within 4 months, my dad was diagnosed and ultimately lost his battle with cancer. That is why I continue to support this cause and continue to help in fighting back. He is the primary reason I will ride this year.
Over the years, the donations from Pelotonia have made a difference. Small victories are being won. It is what inspires me to continue to be a part of this great event that has raised over $100 million for cancer research.
So I'm back for year number 11 of this great event with increased motivation and inspiration. To be able to raise money in honor and memory of family and friends, especially my dad, and also for the hope that my kids may never have to worry about cancer is truly inspiring.
If you'd like to donate, click the ridiculously large "Donate to My Ride" box up there on the right. I truly appreciate any donation, large or small. They all add up in the fight for the cause, and every penny goes toward research funding, not overhead.
Pelotonia is a grassroots bike tour with one goal: to end cancer. Large or small, every donation makes a difference. 100% of every donation will fund essential research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.
