|$0 My Goal: $1,250.00|
Riding this year is special for me. Not only am I a very proud triple Buckeye, but it's my 10 year anniversary of my first Pelotonia and meeting my Ben and his family, who got me through the finish line. Even though we can't ride 100 miles together in person this year, I'll be Zooming it live on August 8!
Cancer touches everyone's life. It hit home for me in 2009 when my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. 11 years later, because of cancer research, she's still here. I am so grateful for all the extra years I've had and will get with her.
I'm not a doctor or a researcher. But I can still make a difference. So I've joined a community of passionate fundraisers, researchers and donors who have committed to change the future of cancer care. In just eleven years the Pelotonia community raised over $208 million for life-saving cancer research. But we aren’t stopping there. Every single dollar we raise is invested in innovative cancer research, the brightest minds and ideas, and the tools and technology needed to reach our one goal. In July 2019, Pelotonia announced the creation of the Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute. The institute launched with an initial $102,265,000 pledge from the Pelotonia community. This money will be raised over the next 5 years and represents the 2,265 riders who participated in the first Pelotonia in 2009. Please consider supporting me today by making a donation to support my fundraising goal. Remember - 100% of every single dollar raised is directed to life-saving cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center-James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.
