Founded in 2008, Pelotonia is a grassroots movement with One Goal: End Cancer.
Pelotonia has raised over $204 million for cancer research. 100% of donations through riders go directly to research. All overhead expenses and support are covered by the very generous corporate sponsors.
2017 was my first year to ride Pelotonia and it changed my life. I was one of more than 8,000 riders to ride for this cause, and saw survivors and their families along the whole 100 mile route, thanking us for saving their lives.
I repeated this in 2018 and 2019, still amazed and awed at the response of community and impressed with how Pelotonia was able to translate these dollars into treatment to people so quickly. They are truly saving more lives every year as treatments advance. These treatments are becoming more powerful, as Pelotonia has joined forces with a network of facilities across the country and pooled information so that more detailed and tailored treaments can be developed. The result? Literally more lives saved.
For 2020, I won't be able to make it to Columbus, but I will be riding 150 miles on Pelotonia weekend in Michigan, and will be registered with Pelotonia as a virtual rider so that I can still support the cause.
Cancer touches us all. In 2016, I lost my Dad to cancer, and have lost so many friends and family. Even with 8,000 plus riders, this is deeply personal. So thank you for helping in the effort to beat cancer! Together, we have the strength to beat cancer.
