|Congrats! Keep going!|
I am riding in Pelotonia for my fifth year in loving memory and tribute to my mother, Sandi Loucks, who lost her heroic battle to cancer at the very young age of 33. My mom was a truly extraordinary and loving woman with such a passion for life. But her beautiful life was cut so short due to diffuse gastric cancer, a type of stomach cancer that currently has no adequate early detection test. Those, like my mom and my grandmother, who are attacked by this cancer usually have no idea that they have it until they are already dying. Even as a registered nurse who constantly cared for cancer patients, my mom had no idea she was sick. Once diagnosed, she died only six months later.
On August 3rd, I will ride for her, and for my grandmother who lost her life to the same disease at only 38, for my father who raised us by himself, for my brother who was only 9 when she died, for his children who didn’t get to meet their grandmother, for all of the brave people I love who have fought this disease, and for the millions who are fighting for their lives to beat it right now. Please help me in the fight to make early detection tests possible and the end of cancer a reality. All donations are greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support!
