This year I am riding 100 miles which I expect will be very very hard for me considering my training has consisted of eating chocolate, driving home buyers/sellers around Columbus and caring for our newborn. [insert palm on forehead emoji].
Rewind nearly five (5) years ago, I remember taking the afternoon off from work. Mom and I had lunch and then went to a nearby park. It was a beautiful sunny day, the fluffy clouds were interspersed throughout the sky while the trees swayed in unison from the light breeze. The park bench, where we sat, was located in the center of the park shaded by an gigantic oak tree towering behind us. We sat and talked and just enjoyed being with each other, holding hands.
Like a wallet size photo, I can retrieve this happy memory with vivid clarity. It was one of the last loving memories I had with my mom.
To me, the Pelotonia represents love and connection. It is an opportunity to recognize all the people in my life who "show me the love" and those also impacted by Cancer. I invite you to join me on my ride. Support the cause. Make a donation. One goal; FIND A CURE.
PS - proud to share that our daughter Taylor, now 2 months old, is named after my mom Terri.
------ Tune-in to watch last years ride -----
