Pelotonia is a special organization - there is singular focus - Cure Cancer.

Because of COVID, this year there won't be a big ride, but each of us is crafting our own plan to raise funds and express our support.

In the past, I've participated in Pelotonia to honored family and friends:

  • My Aunt, Ellen Guy, who passed away of brain cancer;
  • Kate Amato, an 11-year old friend of our family who fought courageously and lost;
  • Two of my coaches and mentors, Brad Dunnington and Norman Shubb who died of pancreatic cancer.

This year I am riding for my friend Ted Orr who is courageously battling glioblastoma brain cancer and is making great progress. Ted is the embodiment of the fighter with a positive attitude. He has endured two brain surgeries this year, is currently in his second round of chemotherapy, and yet, still does not go to sleep before completing 10,000 steps each day. If you live in my neighborhood, chances are you will see Ted making his rounds. Ted’s fight continues!

Ted is going to kick cancer’s ass and I am committed to doing all I can to help him.

This summer I will complete the 326 mile Ohio to Erie trail that goes from the Ohio River in Cincinnati to Lake Erie in Cleveland.

With every rotation of my pedals I am thinking about my loved ones who lost their battle and Ted who is determined to win his.

Together we can end this dreadful disease.

Thank you for your support!
