The fact that you are here, reading about this means so much to me - thank you very much for your support.
My cycling journey began in 2016, and it literally changed my life. I met a wonderful new friend (and now, husband), Aaron, who introduced me to the sport of cycling. Since begining riding, I have traveled over 6,500 miles on my bike, over 700 miles on my feet and hundreds of thousands of yards swam. I have lost close to 100 lbs. What I lost in weight, I gained in self confidence, self love, and self belief. Cycling has taught me to be at peace with my thoughts and that my mind will give out LONG before my body.
The real reason I ride for Pelotonia is because CANCER SUCKS and Pelotonia is doing something about it. 100% of the money raised goes directly to cancer research here in Columbus! In 2002, I lost my Aunt Kathy to Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Since then, many more family members and friends have been diagnosed with cancer. Most recently, my dad. He is doing amazing and fighting the crap out of the Multiple Myloma he was diagnosed with in 2018. I RIDE FOR THEM - THIS YEAR I RIDE FOR HIM. This year, I am back in the game ready to ride to start beating this horrible disease again! I will be doing a two day ride this year 55 miles on day one and 35 on day two.
I know this is a tough year and things are tight. Unfortunately, cancer doesn't stop and we can't either. Please give as you are able and thank you in advance!
