|$0 My Commitment: $100.00|
My first Pelotonia ride was an amazing experience. I am thankful that I can participate again his year. The unfortunate reality is my list of those I ride for continues to grow. My list from the first year was short. At the time, only one of my heroes had lost their grave battle. Many more have lost their battle.
Fred: Step father to my amazing college friend, Lisa Potocsnak.
Greg: my cousin 💙
Angela: my friend and colleague. How I miss you!
Mary: one of my mentors, dear friend and colleague.
My additional heroes for this ride:
Steve: my hubby's Uncle. I only met him once, but could tell he was a great man and loved by the family. I would have loved to get to know him more. His presence is greatly missed.
Mary: my husband's Aunt. I had the pleasure of spending time with her on our wedding day. She was such a beautiful person. I only wish that I could spend more time with her. Her spirit lives on in the memories of those who loved her.
Bob Lowrey: he has been my neighbor since I was in the 3rd grade. He has battled colon cancer, and is in REMISSION! Bob is a kind man who put up with us when we were younger! I am so lucky to have Bob and his sweet wife, Sue in my life.
Don Noes: I feel like I have known him and his family since birth. Don was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer, and lost his battle a few months later.
Justin: husband to one of my colleagues! He has two young children at home. My hope is the money raised for research will help in his fight! Stay strong, Fickert. You are always on my mind. -Update on Justin. He lost his brave battle this summer.
My list went from 4 to 9 in just a few short years. I am hopeful that there will be a cure for cancer in my lifetime! Until then, we ride!
Peoltonia was was founded in 2008. Their goal: end cancer. All the funds raised (💯) go to the James Cancer Research Hospital in Columbus, OH. Year to date, they have raised over 13.8 mil!! That is just this year!
