It is hard to imagine that I am embarking on my 8th ride for Pelotonia. Over those years I’ve covered as many as 180 miles over two days, and as few as 35 miles as I did on a beautiful Sunday morning back in August 2018. But no matter how far I ride, it is a challenge – physically, mentally and emotionally. But at the end of the day, I know how fortunate I am. Riding my bicycle is nothing compared to the battle many of my friends are facing every day.
Like many of my fellow riders – and many of you – my life was touched early on by cancer when I was too young to know what it was. And as I grew older, I witnessed first-hand the speed at which this disease can take those we love.
But I have also seen the wonderful care and life-saving treatment that is provided by the James Cancer Hospital, and the medical breakthroughs coming from the Solove Research Institute.
I hope that you will be able to make a contribution to help me reach my 2019 fundraising goal.
