|$0 My Goal: $3,000.00|
This coming August 3 and 4, I and nearly 8000 cyclists will ride in the 11th edition of Pelotonia (www.pelotonia.org), a major fundraising event where 100% of donated funds goes to funding cancer research at The James Cancer Hospital at The Ohio State University (https://pelotonia.org/about/the-james/) . This will be my first year of participation and motivation initially came from the friendships developed during the many 2018 rides I did with one of the “Teams” as they trained for months. A more powerful motivation came about in March when I found myself in a tussle with cancer, but I’ve been riding again and look forward to doing my part to assist the medical and scientific communities in discovering new means to discover and treat the many forms of cancer.
It may be hard to believe that as of today over $188 million as been raised for cancer research by a few thousand hardy souls simply riding bikes. There is no denying that those who do this really love riding, as do I. I have also heard many stories from prior year’s riders about individuals and families whose homes they pass on the routes and who gratefully shout and/or hold up signs thanking riders for saving or aiding their loved ones. That’s powerful medicine. Please take a few minutes to visit http://pelotonia.org/impact to learn how the funds raised assist patients and families.
Your support would be much appreciated and I hope you will visit my fundraising page at www.pelotonia.org/stevehauser so together we can help others.
