I am putting my skill set to good use as a volunteer this year, although I have been a rider in the past. I hope you will consider supporting me again! I have been a nurse practitioner at the James for 17 years and am privileged to now be working in the growing field of cancer survivorship and supportive care. I have been privileged to care for patients young and old, from diagnosis to survivorship to death. All of them have taught me something about the cancer journey, and many taught me things about myself. There are names, faces and stories that remain etched on my heart forever. I volunteer for many reasons: 1) to be a voice for research for rare cancers and late and long term effects of cancer 2) to hope that my children will never have to mourn the loss of a loved one to cancer, 3) to honor the cancer survivors in my professional and personal life and 4) because I like cycling ALMOST as much as I like running! I hope you will support us in this effort!
